Free Translations for Your iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter Apps¶
A developer-friendly localization toolkit for hobby projects, prototypes, and side-projects.
A genuinely useful free plan¶
If you're building an app on nights and weekends, you shouldn't have to:
- fight through enterprise onboarding
- configure three dashboards
- budget for per-user licenses
- or parse through “per-seat usage-based tiered pricing”
You just want something that translates your app well, works from the CLI, and doesn't break your build.
The GetTranslated.AI Free Plan does exactly that — with unlimited projects, translation memory, dynamic resource support, and real functionality for free. Whether you're working on a passion project, a school experiment, or an indie app gaining traction, translation should feel like a natural part of your workflow.
What You Get on the Free Plan¶
1,000 base strings¶
Enough for a real mobile app — not just a prototype.
Unlimited projects¶
Side-projects, experiments, test apps — have as many as you want.
Translation Memory¶
Your translations stay consistent across screens, files, and updates. Once you see this in action, it's hard to go back.
Learn more about how Translation Memory works.
Static + dynamic resources supported¶
Translate your .strings, .xml, .json, and your runtime text. Use whichever workflow your app actually needs.
Popular languages included¶
Translate into the world's most-used languages — perfect for early traction. Need long-tail or specialized languages? Those live in paid tiers.
5,000 MAU¶
More than enough for a beta launch, hobby app, or early-stage product.
Support for iOS, Android, React Native, and Flutter¶
- iOS
.stringsand.stringsdict— iOS localization guide - Android
strings.xml+plurals— Android localization guide - React Native i18next JSON — React Native localization guide
- Flutter
.arbfiles with ICU plurals and@-metadata — Flutter localization guide
Everything you need for shipping apps.
Correctness validation¶
We catch build-breaking issues before they reach your users:
- missing placeholders
- broken plurals
- malformed JSON/XML
- encoding problems
Your app stays stable across every target language.
1 seat¶
Perfect for solo devs and indie app creators.
How It Works¶
The workflow is CLI-first — minimal clicks, no dashboards to navigate. Here's how you get started:
# Install the CLI
pip install gettranslated-cli
# In your project root (or any folder)
translate sync
Behind the scenes, the CLI will:
- Upload your base-language files (e.g.
en.json,Localizable.strings,strings.xml) - Translate any new or untranslated strings (using built-in AI)
- Download updated translation files back into your project
That's it.
If you prefer more control, the CLI supports other modes: upload only, download only, explicit translate, and even forced re-upload / verbose logging.
For teams or CI setup: you can integrate this with GitHub Actions (or any CI) — run translate sync automatically, so translations stay up-to-date without manual effort. See our CI/CD integration guide for details.
The CLI lives in your terminal, next to your code — where it belongs.
Why This Free Plan Is Worth Using¶
Most “free” tiers in localization tools are time-limited, feature-limited, or project-limited. This one is different:
- Unlimited projects — explore freely
- 1,000 strings — build real apps
- Translation memory — consistent results
- Dynamic resources — future-proof
- All Tier 1 languages — launch globally from day one
It's a plan built for solo developers who want to ship, not a trial designed to push you toward upgrading.
What Happens When You Outgrow the Free Plan?¶
You'll know it's time when:
- your app grows beyond 1,000 strings
- your MAU climbs above 5,000
- you need more seats
- you want more languages
- you need advanced TM or review workflows
- your team expands
If you're growing a startup or small team, check out our guides for startups and small tech teams. Ready to upgrade? View our pricing plans.
Until then, the free plan stays out of your way. Build, ship, translate, repeat.
